Vivo is preparing to introduce its next-generation foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold5, in the Indian market. While an exact launch date remains unconfirmed, industry sources indicate the device may debut within the first half of July, potentially alongside the Vivo X200 FE.
The X Fold5, which recently became available in China, is anticipated to retain similar specifications and design elements in its Indian version. Vivo has also updated its official website with key specifications, hinting at an imminent release.
The upcoming foldable device is engineered with a lightweight build, tipping the scale at 217 grams. Its dimensions are reported to be 0.43 cm when open and 0.92 cm when folded, placing it among the slimmest in its category.
Internally, the X Fold5 houses an 8.03-inch AMOLED display offering 2K+ resolution. Externally, it features a 6.53-inch secondary display. Both screens support a 120Hz refresh rate and deliver peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Configurations include up to 16GB of RAM and internal storage extending to 1TB. Camera hardware consists of a triple 50MP module—standard, ultra-wide, and periscope zoom lenses—alongside a 20MP front-facing camera. The camera system incorporates ZEISS T-* coating to reduce reflections and enhance clarity.
Battery capacity stands at 6,000mAh, accompanied by 80W wired and 40W wireless charging capabilities. The handset also features an IPX9+ rating for water resistance, a rare specification among foldables.
In China, the X Fold5 is priced between ¥6,999 (approximately Rs 85,000) and ¥9,499 (around Rs 1.15 lakh). Indian pricing will be disclosed at launch but may differ based on local factors.
